The Farm Moon Man

So...
from your host,

At last!
It took me long enough.

This has been my life's work for the last three months. Ever since I saw Lilith Fair, then went home and began to draw the new logo, I knew then what The Farm should look like.
And I like it.

In a few months, I learned probably a year's worth of stuff. Problem rises, solved, only to find another. But it's all been worked out. Hopefully.
A year's worth. Now I know better!

So. This is open house. Roam, read, respond; tell me how it looks. If this design lacks, I need to know; this may one day be my career. If I err in one small way, pick me apart. I rely on feedback.
I wrote the code, yet there are more people here than me. They wrote the stories, poems, and jokes; the good stuff. I'm merely the host. This is about them. This is for you.
Enjoy yourself.

Finally.
Three months... The Farm has arrived.
Finally, after three long months of reminders that The Farm was in the works; it's here. A lot has happened; a lot of new ideas have come into being, a lot of changes, revisions, and improvements. A lot of sweat.
It's a lot better.
After being in existence since March, it was due time we had a new face. The old look was, in this author's opinion, too artificial and too bland. It was nifty in its execution and design, but it soon outgrew its look. This design may do so one day, but let's hope it won't for a long while.
So. What has happened with The Farm? Standard features have stayed, but with the old came the new as well. There was room for improvement, and these things, overdue on the need for change, have had a facelift.
The old:
A few sections have withstood the delete key. These are:
Pulse, where poetry can be found; Substance, wherein short stories from a few Residents reside; and Locale, which includes a few updated links to other sites.
The new:
New to The Farm is an opinion and essay section - Consider. I've wanted to have a seperate section for this: literature says a lot, but there are some ideas that are better expressed in essays and editorials.
Art and literature go hand-in-hand in Gallery. Visual works like drawings, photos, image manipulations, and illustrated works are found there.
Enjoy, the improved humor section, is bigger. There's even a new Resident whose specialty is southern humor. We welcome him.
And...where the Residents live is Kin. This is our brightest of the new features. Every work posted at The Farm is linked to that author's personal biographical page, where you can find something out about the person behind the pen and hear the Resident speak for themself.
Improvement:
Among the changes is the new look. Inspired by art from the Celts, the Middle Ages, and the recent past, the feel is, hopefully, more coherent in reminding us that writing and art have been with us for a long time, and that they will be with us for a long time hereafter.
These arts have continued to give us joy.
And these joys are what makes us human.

Paint the Sun The Farm is looking for original artwork to fill our Gallery.
But it gets fun. We're looking for drawings of the sun, in styles that fit our motif. Woodcuts, freehand sketches, photographs, anything.
The suns will be presented in our gallery for reader voting. The artist of the favored heliosphere will be given Residence here, and their design will be featured somewhere here at The Farm.
See Share for submission details.
The Farm welcomes its
two new Residents

The Farm formally welcomes Bubba and Nefarious to the fold.
Bubba is an Alabama native who's had a lifelong dream of writing, and is doing it now for pay. His specialty is Southern humor.
Nefarious comes from Tennessee bringing the experience of many lifetimes with her. Her interests are prose-poetry, family, and Wicca.
They are welcome with open arms.

There's plenty of room. Would like to be a Resident too?
