So Deep (into you)
Rufus the Verbose
Like the flowing of the waters,
across this river I swim to you.
Like rocks, I climb your vast mountains
to reach your glory concealed;
take me to your heartlands.
Show me your fertile plains-
I wish to carry my seed to you.
Fruits of our labors, we can watch them grow,
reach up for the sun,
and take our names from the sky.
When the storms come, we will shelter them.
In danger, be their place to hide,
because we are one; complete.
We are the firmament, strong and eternal.
Rivers dry, mountains crumble into the sea,
and I am here, with you:
we shared it all
when everything was all we had.
